The University and NGDOs Facing the Challenges of International Cooperation: Assessment, Synergies, and Development of Joint Projects
16 October 2026
International cooperation requires the commitment and collaboration of various stakeholders to address global challenges and generate transformative responses. In this context, universities and development NGOs have much to contribute and, above all, much to share.
This event, organized jointly by the UMH and the University of Alicante, and funded by the Valencian Regional Government (UNICOP 2025), aims to create a space for dialogue and collaboration to identify challenges, pool capabilities and needs, and explore new avenues for joint work to help drive future international cooperation initiatives and projects from the Province of Alicante.

Program
What are we hoping to achieve with this meeting?
More than just a day of reflection, this meeting is intended to be a starting point for future collaboration.
The goal is for the university and developmental NGOs to depart the meeting with a better understanding of one another, new connections, and potential ideas for joint work that we can continue to build upon.
Identifying the challenges is only the first step. The next step is to find solutions together and turn ideas into projects.
