What Do You Know about EU Values?
18 March 2026
“What Do You Know about EU Values?” is taking place March 25 & 26, 2026. This international workshop aims to be a space for meeting, dialogue, and exchange of ideas through round tables and games with EU values as the focus.
Program
Respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law, and respect for human rights are essential values for ensuring peaceful coexistence and the well-being of citizens in a society characterized by pluralism, non-discrimination, tolerance, justice, solidarity, and equality between men and women. These are the values of the European Union.
The main purpose of this activity is to offer university students basic training and elements for reflection on these values. Values that we may enjoy within the European Union, but which are not the general norm on the international scene, but rather the exception. Even within the European Union, there are many threats to these values today, and many risks that can erode and weaken them. It is therefore essential to care for, protect, and reinforce them. To this end, active involvement by citizens, especially young people, is essential. They must possess sufficient information and training at a time when misinformation is on the rise.
Course activities consist of two parts:
A training seminar in roundtable format.
This shall offer relevant information to lay the groundwork for the subsequent debate.
Course speakers shall provide guidance, explaining the most relevant aspects from the main topics.
The roundtables are then followed by a Q&A session and brief debate.
- A hands-on, participatory workshop
The spotlight falls directly and fully upon the participants, as it is based on their active involvement.
The aim is to consolidate, from a practical and dynamic perspective, the knowledge attained in the roundtables.
Using innovative teaching resources (gamification tools, such as Kahoot and Escape Room), knowledge is reviewed and put into practice, and questions and concerns are addressed.
Next, a debate commences on a couple of topics previously chosen by the participants, in which the students must reach a final consensus position.
