FOR THE FIRST TIME THE UMH TO HOLD THE CCSE EXAMINATION, A REQUIREMENT FOR OBTAINING SPANISH NATIONALITY
The Miguel Hernández University of Elche will hold on Thursday, February 25 its first call for the examination of Constitutional and Sociocultural Knowledge of Spain (CCSE), of which the UMH became an examining center in late January 2016. The 50 places offered by the university for this first call were filled shortly after its initial announcement.
The next CCSE examination at the UMH will be held in April. Ursula Kress, a technician at the Service of International Relations, Development Cooperation and Volunteerism, declares that the places offered for the April exam “have almost been filled.” This shows that a high demand exists in Elche by people interested in obtaining Spanish nationality.
The CCSE examination consists of 25 multiple choice questions on Spanish cultural and social realities, and each participant must correctly answer a minimum of 15. Passage of the CCSE is a requirement for adults who wish to obtain Spanish nationality, as stipulated by current legislation. In addition to the CCSE, each candidate aspiring to obtain a Spanish passport must accredit a minimum A2 Spanish level in cases where it is not their native language. In this sense, the UMH is a veteran in holding DELE examinations for the Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language, as it has been an examining center since 2006.
