Vice Rector for International Relations at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH), Vicente Micol, and UMH Deputy Vice Rector for Research Evaluation, Xavier Barber, met with a delegation from the Autonomous University of Chiapas (UNACH) of Mexico to renew an existing framework agreement between the two institutions. During their discussions, they also talked about advancing opportunities for offering dual graduate programs. This initiative is the brainchild of the School of Engineering of Orihuela, which has been received well by UNACH, an institution that has been associated with the UMH since 2008.

Accompanying the delegation from the Mexican university from Chiapas were its Director General for Research and Graduate Studies, María Guadalupe Rodríguez Galván, along with Academic Coordinator of the Agricultural Sciences and Sustainability doctoral program, María de Lourdes Zaragoza Martínez. Representatives from the UMH in this meeting included Juana Aznar Márquez, Ana Martí de Olives, and María Jesús Navarro Ríos, members of the Economy, Culture and Gender research group, and catalysts for this institutional visit.
