UMH Accompanies You is a telephone accompaniment program that the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) began operating, in collaboration with the Spanish Red Cross, in March 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic and State of Alarm declared by the Spanish government on March 14, 2020.

Initially, this initiative focused on attempting to provide psychosocial care via telephone calls to alleviate loneliness in elders during the covid lockdown, with plans to extend this care during the subsequent recovery period.

Nonetheless, the program has evolved in the face of new scenarios and needs that have arisen. As such, this initiative continues operating, and its activities have been extended to include other groups in vulnerable situations to try to provide emotional support and contribute to alleviating affective problems and stress in such vulnerable populations.
