UMH-ANEDILCO Agreement
UMH and ANEDILCO collaborate to fund Rwandan mutual health insurance premiums for vulnerable families in Nemba, Rwanda
The Vice Rector for Internationalization and Cooperation, Vicente Micol; the Vice Rector for Economics and Society, María José López Sánchez; and the Managing Director of ANEDILCO, José Eduardo Ruiz Jara, announce that the firm will donate 5,000 euros
The UMH and the firm, ANEDILCO, SL, have established a business collaboration agreement through the Vice Rectorate for Economics and Society, in the form of a donation to fund Rwandan mutual health insurance premiums for vulnerable families in Nemba, Rwanda. This announcement was made this morning by the Vice Rector for Internationalization and Cooperation, Vicente Micol; the Vice Rector for Economics and Society, María José López Sánchez; and the Managing Director of ANEDILCO, José Eduardo Ruiz Jara, with the signing of an agreement between both entities.
In 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as various floods and landslides that caused numerous deaths and damaged infrastructure in Nemba, many families became vulnerable and lacked the resources to pay their Rwanda mutual health insurance premiums. Without this insurance, they would be unable to receive healthcare. Because of this, the UMH has been funding these premiums for the past three years through donations from different companies to the Headquarters in Rwanda Institutional Chair. In this case, this specific donation will cover the annual health insurance premiums for 458 families.
This agreement specifies that ANEDILCO will donate 5,000 euros while the UMH will be responsible for reporting about the company donation on the Headquarters in Rwanda Institutional Chair website and on the report of activities by the Vice Rectorate for Internationalization and Cooperation. ANEDILCO is a frozen products distribution company with more than 70 locations throughout Spain.
