UMH highlights importance of internationalizing student academic transcripts at two conferences in Costa Rica
25 October 2024
Deputy Vice Rector for Internationalization at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche, Alberto Rodríguez, was a participant in two conferences at the National University of Costa Rica (UNA), and there he stressed the importance “of internationalizing the academic transcripts of students,” because “in a world as globalized as this one, it is essential that students undergo international training.”
Rodríguez participated as an invited speaker in two sessions of the Academic Workshops on Internationalization and Innovation, held at the Alajuela Interuniversity Venue (UNA-SIUA), in addition to two training sessions with the UNA-SIUA Senate, which is headed by Roberto Rojas. Rojas visited the UMH in December 2023 to present collaborative online international learning programs organized by the Miguel Hernández University that are part of the Internationalization at Home Program (PRODIC) that are funded by the Vice Rectorate for Internationalization and Cooperation.
The Deputy Vice Rector also met with staff from the UNA Office for Internationalization and Extension to discuss the structures of the services of internationalization at both universities.
Lastly, Rodríguez was invited to participate in a UNA governing body meeting, in which the UNA rectoral team also attended. Their meeting addressed the agreements in force and exchange programs, which today consist of the KA171 and KA 131 actions.
In fact, there is currently one Costa Rican doctoral student enrolled at the UMH School of Engineering of Orihuela on a research stay that is being funded by the KA171 Erasmus+ program action.
