UMH begins Spanish language course for Ukrainian refugees
This course is part of the host program for university refugees
The Director of the Service of International Relations, Development Cooperation and Volunteerism, Inmaculada Blaya, helped inaugurate the Spanish classes for students and faculty from Ukrainian universities who have been forced to flee the war.
These courses will facilitate their linguistic and cultural immersion in Spain during their training stays that the UMH has implemented for the 2022-23 school year. Displaced students from Ukrainian universities have enrolled in UMH courses, that will subsequently be recognized by their universities of origin.
Since the beginning of the conflict, the UMH has worked in conjunction with NGOs and other Spanish & Ukrainian universities to offer the best possible response for these displaced students and faculty. One result of these efforts is the Host Program for University Refugees, which is coordinating resources and capabilities to provide comprehensive assistance to its refugees, supporting them in many aspects. This program offers accommodations, psychosocial support, legal information, academic tutoring, and Spanish classes.
