UMH and thousands of higher education professionals participate at the EAIE

Connecting Currents is the theme for the 33rd Annual EAIE Conference and Exhibition, held September 26-29, 2023, in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. This edition has attracted more than 6,000 higher education professionals, including the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) and its Service of International Relations, Development Cooperation and Volunteerism. Representatives from the UMH include Inmaculada Blaya, service director; Mónica Candela, service technician; and Alberto Rodríguez, Deputy Vice Rector for Internationalization.

The EAIE (European Association for International Education) is the ‘European centre for expertise, networking and resources in the internationalisation of higher education.’ This conference is the largest exhibition, with 241 exhibitors from more than 50 countries, and it represents an unrivaled partnership opportunity to consolidate contacts and forge new alliances with higher education professionals. AEIA 2023 offers more than 100 activities, including conferences, interesting panels, training with inspiring plenary speakers, campus visits, contests, debates, and much more.

The UMH, aiming to strengthen current agreements and add new projects, took part in 37 bilateral interviews with reps from European countries and others from all over the world. They include Argentina, Bangladesh, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Iceland, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, and the USA. The Elche institution is reinforcing its internationalization with partner universities and expanding its internationalization with new universities and building new partnerships. The networking sessions at the EAIE enable the UMH to collaborate with universities from all over the world, and especially Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
