És un gran plaer anunciar la UMH International Staff Week IV, que tindrà lloc del 15 al 19 de maig de 2023. Durant aquest esdeveniment, presentarem el nostre projecte especial. És un honor donar la benvinguda a tants col·legues d’universitats europees; Serà una oportunitat de viure l’experiència en la nostra institució a Elx, Espanya, els seus voltants, i aprendre d’altres experiències.

12:50	Guided Tour of Elche old town by train	Discover Elche aboard the Trenet (Elche tourist train). During this 45-minute ride, it visits emblematic areas of the city: Municipal Park, part of the historical and Palm Grove. Additionally, we could visit the Basilica of Santa María, the old town, the town center shopping area and Glorieta square. Learn about the history of the three UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Palm Grove, the Mystery Play of Elche, and the Centre for Traditional Culture - School Museum of Puçol Pedagogic Project. COM ARRIBAR AL CAMPUS D’ELX DE LA UNIVERSITAT MIGUEL HERNÀNDEZ D’ELX

Elx és veritablement dins d’una privilegiada ubicació, a 26 km sud-oest d’Alacant. Es troba en una posició estratègica, formant, juntament amb altres ciutats properes, l’eix del sud de l’Arc mediterrani, una àrea dinàmica tant demogràficament i econòmicament.

Elx posseeix bona terra, mar, i connexions aèries. L’aeroport Alacant-Elx Miguel Hernàndez (ALC) és proper i també ho és de la capital provincial portuària. Posseeix també connexions per carretera, vinculades a l’autopista de la Mediterrània i les autovies a Madrid, Albacete, Alacant, València, Barcelona, i Múrcia, mentre la seua connexió per tren inclou l’aturada pel tren d’alta velocitat AVE a Espanya AVE.

Elx, un oasi mediterrani

El campus administratiu principal de la UMH es troba a la ciutat d’Elx. Elx és la tercera ciutat més gran de la Comunitat Valenciana, i posseeix tres llocs Patrimoni de la Humanitat per la UNESCO: el Palmeral d’Elx, el Museu Escolar de Puçol i el Misteri d’Elx. Els estudiants entrants destaquen les seues importants opcions culturals i d’oci: Elx compta amb diversos museus, una atmosfera universitària al centre de la ciutat, tranquilitat al barri d’Altabix (el campus de la UMH es troba allà). Elx es troba en una veritable privilegiada ubicació, 26 km al sud-oest d’Alacant. Altea, l’has de viure

Altea és el campus més artístic de la UMH, situat en l’entorn mediterrani privilegiat de la Marina Baixa (al nord d’Alacant). Una característica única d’aquest campus és que és exclusiu de la facultat de Belles Arts de la universitat. Aquest campus ha estat dissenyat per respondre a dues realitats: la integració d’estudiants i instructors en el paisatge inspirador on es troba, i la voluntat de complir els requisits específics d’una educació de belles arts.

Entre altres instal·lacions, el campus té un taller de forja, espais dedicats a nous mitjans, un laboratori d’experimentació, foneria artística, i estudis d’imatge i so.

Oriola, història mediterrània

La UMH té instal·lacions en dos llocs de la ciutat d’Oriola. Oriola és la capital de la regió dl Baix Segura, i adjacent a la Regió de Múrcia. Situat a la vora del riu Segura, Oriola és on va néixer i créixer Miguel Hernàndez, l’il·lustre poeta per al qual es diu aquesta universitat. Hi ha dues seus UMH a Oriola: Escola Politècnica Superior d’Oriola (EPSO) i la Facultat de Ciències Socials i Jurídics d’Oriola.

Oriola és una ciutat que alberga molts tresors, com l’obra de Diego Silva Velàzquez, La Temptació de Santo Tomàs, i obres úniques del gran escultor, Francisco Salzillo.Part d’aquesta varietat artística es pot veure a la Setmana Santa d’Oriola, declarada Festa d’Interès Turístic Internacional el 2010.

Sant Joan, a prop de tot

Sant Joan d’Alacant està situada al cor de la Costa Blanca, i té tot el que necessites. La història d’aquesta ciutat està estretament vinculada al camp d’Alacant. Amb el pas dels anys, ha albergat un important patrimoni i conjunt històric. Hui en dia, Sant Joan d’Alacant és una destinació turística de la província d’Alacant, la major proporció d’allotjament hoteler i la seua ubicació en un espai divers, amistós i sostenible significa que un nombre creixent de residents i visitants trien Sant Joan com el seu lloc de confort.

Aquest poble té tot el que un visitant podria desitjar. És a prop de la platja, prop de les muntanyes, prop de la capital d’Alacant (9 km), i prop de destinacions populars com Benidorm, Denia, Torrevieja, i Xàbia.
